Build the Burpengary East School

Burpengary East and North Harbour are growing fast, but the LNP Government has failed to fund the new primary school our community needs.

The land for a future school has already been purchased.

Local schools are under pressure, and families deserve safe, local schooling options close to home.

Chris Whiting MP is calling on the LNP Government to commit to commencing construction of the Burpengary East primary school in the 2027/28 financial year and to plan safe public transport connections for local families.

We want to hear from you on safe, local schooling options

Hon John-Paul Langbroek MP
Minister for Education and the Arts
PO Box 15033
CITY EAST QLD 4002

Dear Minister Langbroek,

RE: BUILD BURPENGARY EAST SCHOOL

I am writing as a local resident to ask the Queensland Government to fund the construction of a new primary school in Burpengary East.

Burpengary East and North Harbour are growing communities, with more families moving into the area and more homes being built.

Land has already been purchased by the State Government in Burpengary East for a future school. Our community now wants to see the next step taken and funding committed to build the school.

At present, local families rely on schools outside Burpengary East. Morayfield East State School is the nearest catchment school and is close to capacity.

Building a school locally would give more children the opportunity to attend school closer to home and reduce future pressure on surrounding schools.

I am asking the Queensland Government to:

  • Commit construction funding for a new primary school in Burpengary East in the 2027–28 Queensland Budget.
  • Progress planning and delivery of the school as a priority for this growing community.
  • Plan appropriate public transport connections as part of the school’s development.

Please support our community and take the next step towards building the Burpengary East primary school.

Yours sincerely,
