We are still getting local benefits from hosting the 2020 AFL Grand Final, said Chris Whiting MP.
The AFL Final Facilities Fund offers community AFL clubs to apply for up to $100,000 towards upgraded or new facilities.
“The AFL Grand Final at the Gabba was more than a chance for young local AFL players to get a first hand look at their sports heroes on Queensland soil,” said Chris Whiting MP.
“It gave an opportunity for Queensland clubs to grow their sport and get a range of new players from all kinds of backgrounds.
“To fund that growth, the Palaszczuk Government and AFL Queensland have created the $8 million AFL Final Facilities Fund.
“This funding program is available to affiliated AFL clubs and ties in with AFL Queensland’s Facilities Plan 2020-2025.
“So I want our local clubs – The North Lakes Eels and Redcliffe Tigers – to have a look and put in an application, said Chris Whiting MP.
