The Moreton Bay Region is a great place to live. We are surrounded by the natural beauty of Deception Bay, the bustling business centre of North Lakes, and the growing Mango Hill community serviced by the fantastic new Redcliffe Peninsula Line.
Across the entire Murrumba Electorate it is the people who make a great difference. Our Community Champions.
Since being elected I have presented an award annually for some of our fantastic volunteers in the lead-up to Christmas. This year however I wanted to do something a bit different, and honour anyone who makes a difference in our community.
What better day to acknowledge the hard work of local Queenslanders than on Queensland Day? June 6 recognises the day that the great state of Queensland become self-governing in 1859.
It could be someone who works in one of our many fantastic community groups, or on a school P&C. A business who gives back to the community, or someone putting in the effort at a local sporting group.
There’s an endless list of great qualities, and great people we can acknowledge.
The awards are open to anyone who you feel makes a positive difference in the Murrumba community.
Nominations close at 5pm on 26 May 2017.
Recipients, and those who have nominated them, will be invited to a special awards function on Queensland Day.
Murrumba is comprised of the suburbs of Griffin, Mango Hill, Rothwell, North Lakes, Deception Bay & Burpengary East. It also takes in parts of Kippa-Ring, Narangba and Morayfield.
