North Lakes & Deception Bay Odour Issues
If you are experiencing the strong odours that can sometimes effect parts of North Lakes and Deception Bay, then there is a simple way to report it.
There is an online form that the community can fill out which gets sent to the pollution hotline team, who will then pass it on to the local compliance centre for action.
The link to the online form can be found here.
You are also able to report pollution incidents, including odour, by calling the Pollution Hotline on 1300 130 372 or emailing PollutionHotline@des.qld.gov.au.
Pollution incidents can be reported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phoning, emails are only monitored 8.30am to 5.00pm business days.
Where residents are experiencing ongoing or more frequent odour issues, they can also complete an Odour Log Sheet.
This allows residents to record details of the types of odour they are experiencing, what time/s and the odour characteristics. This information is valuable to our compliance teams to gain a more detailed understanding of what the community are experiencing, and can be used to guide any compliance activities. These reports can be submitted by emailing PollutionHotline@des.qld.gov.au
The Department of Environment’s website has more information about reporting pollution issues, including a general overview of the responsibilities of the Department and those of local Government in responding to these issues.
You can visit that site here: https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/pollution/pollution-management/reporting
