Finding A JP

Justices of the Peace and Commissioners for Declarations perform an incredibly important community service. Justices of the Peace can also be found in some local shopping centres and libraries:

DECEPTION BAY MARKET SQUARE:
9am-1pm Monday – Saturday

WESTFIELD NORTH LAKES:
10:30am-2:30pm Monday-Friday
6pm-8pm Thursday
9:30am-12pm Saturday

NORTH LAKES LIBRARY:
10am-12pm Sunday

BURPENGARY LIBRARY:
10am – 1pm Monday to Wednesday and Friday
9:30am-12:30pm Saturday

Becoming a Justice of the Peace of Commissioner of Declaration

Information on becoming a JP or CDec in Queensland, including the application form, can be found here.

You will note that the application requires your nomination by your local State Member. This process is now undertaken using an online process by the JP Branch, who ensure that all applications are sent to the relevant State Member of Parliament.

Certificates of Appreciation for JP’s and CDecs

If you, or someone you know, has served as a JP or CDec for 25, 40, 50 or 60 years, the Government would like to recognise your service to the community.
