Nine New Police Graduates Arriving at Stations in Our Area.
I welcome the appointment of nine new police graduates from the Oxley Police Academy to stations servicing the Bancroft electorate.
Three will be stationed at Redcliffe, three in Caboolture, and one each at Burpengary, Deception Bay and Petrie.
The new style of policing in Queensland means officers and graduates from all these stations can be called to service requests in Burpengary East, Deception Bay and North Lakes.
The Queensland Police Service uses a ‘borderless’ policing model under which police are moved in numbers to where they’re needed, when they’re needed.
In 2017 the Palaszczuk Government committed to an additional 535 police and operational specialists by mid 2021-22.
131 or approximately one quarter of those extra police have already been delivered, and over the next three years the remaining growth numbers will also be delivered.
So not only are there more police in Queensland than ever before, but the QPS is also more mobile and agile.
I will keep on pushing for extra police to cover all our fast-growing areas in the Bancroft electorate.
