Chris Whiting MP is urging Bancroft residents to nominate a local champion to be recognised as a Queensland
Great.
Nominations for these prestigious awards are currently open and close at 5pm om Monday 31 January.
“The Queensland Greats Awards recognise people who have made a long-term contribution to the history and
development of Queensland,” said Chris Whiting MP.
“They are also awarded to institutions that have helped shape and create the Queensland we know today.
“So I want local residents to think about who in our local community deserves this recognition, and get on lone to make sure they are nominated,” said Chris Whiting.
Nominations are open across three categories:
Individual – for individuals who have made a long-term contribution to the history and development of
Queensland.
Institutions – for companies or organisations operating in Queensland that have contributed to Queensland for a considerable period. This can include non-government associations, partnerships, franchises, community
organisations or charities.
Posthumous – to honour deceased individuals who have a made a long-term contribution to the history and
development of Queensland.
