Chris Whiting MP has congratulated the Class of 2022 for their graduation from high school and reminded them they are in a great position to take the next step in their careers.

He said data released about the class of 2021 reveals they have the highest employment rate of school leavers since 2009.

“It is a good time to move into further study or employment for these years 12 graduates as we know the 2021 graduates are doing really well,” he said.

“The class of 2021 participation in employment was up 3.2 percentage points, the highest since 2009.

“Overall engagement in education, training or employment in 2022 was 90.6%, the highest level experienced since 2008. For 2021 or 2022 seniors unsure about their next step, we have some options for them.

“The Queensland Government’s $16.3 million Link and Launch program supports Year 12 graduates who are not in employment, education or training in the year after they leave school and who need additional help to navigate their post-school options,” said Chris Whiting MP.
