The Palaszczuk Government has opened up a grants program to support organisations who support women, said Chris Whiting MP
“This a great program for local organisations who want to make a real difference in the lives of local women across our community,” said Chris Whiting MP.
“One example of a program funded by the previous round was a domestic violence awareness workshops for girls and boys and their parents.
“There are a range of possibilities for local projects under this program and I encourage local community organisations to look at what they can do,” said Chris Whiting.
The categories for the grant applications are:
Category 1: up to $5,000 for small initiatives such as targeted campaigns or events, such as a workshop or training for small groups.
Category 2: up to $10,000 for larger initiatives which will operate on a broader scale or are more sustainable in nature, such as a large scale campaign or a series of workshops.
Category 3: up to $15,000 for substantial initiatives which are undertaken jointly between two or more organisations or community groups. What would be favoured is a matched contribution to the initiative from the project partners.
In round one there was an overwhelming number of applications so for many organisations this will be a second chance to apply for funding.
The applications are open until 31 July, and for more information go to https://www.justice.qld.gov.au/initiatives/grants-for-queensland-women
