State Government to Buy More from Queensland Businesses

State Government to Buy More from Queensland Businesses Main Image

Opportunities for local businesses will be boosted from a lift in the Buy Queensland business
procurement target from 25% to 30%.

The Palaszczuk Government will maximise the 20-year pipeline of Olympic opportunities with a target of
at least 30% of State Government procurement to come from Queensland SMEs.

“We think that will inject an extra $300 million into jobs and businesses across the state,” said Chris
Whiting MP.

“Our Government unashamedly backs good Queensland jobs.

“Our area is such a dynamic centre for small and medium Queensland enterprises, and we should be
benefiting from our policy to buy what we need from Queensland firms first.

“Since we introduced the Buy Queensland approach in 2017, the Palaszczuk Government has invested
more than $75.5 billion with almost 80,000 businesses.

“The best part is that $8.83 billion has gone to Queensland regional businesses – more than 28,670 of
them in that time.
