New replacement ambulance vehicle rolls out of Deception Bay Ambulance Station in frontline boost

ChrisAdmin Community Ambulance, Bancroft, Chris Whiting, Chris Whiting MP, Deception Bay, Member for Bancroft, Queensland Ambulance, Steven Miles

Deception Bay residents in need of emergency pre-hospital care are set to be better serviced with a new replacement ambulance vehicle.

The state-of-the-art vehicle would provide first-class healthcare to the community.

Our paramedics work incredibly hard here on the front line and they deserve the best possible resources, equipment, and support so they can do their jobs to the standard Queenslanders deserve.

To back in our ambos, this $335,000 vehicle does the heavy lifting when it comes to assisting paramedics getting their patients to hospitals.

This replacement, dual stretcher modular ambulance is on the roads and is making the lives of Deception Bay’s ambos easier.

The vehicle had undergone extensive conversion, locally at Varley on the Narangba Innovation Precinct, in consultation with paramedics to ensure it was best suited for day to day use.

This particular vehicle has two power-assisted stretchers, which have been proven to reduce the rate of manual-handling injuries that paramedics suffer during their shifts.

Being able to raise and lower patients at the touch of a button will protect our paramedics from potential lifting and carrying injuries.

It’s not just the weight of the patients which strain paramedics backs, it’s the repetition.

In addition to the Stryker power-assisted stretchers, which can carry patients up to 318kg, the vehicle also has a multimedia rear view mirror, reversing sensor and camera, an additional video display of the patient area and a refrigerated compartment for keeping patient medication at the correct temperature.

I know this vehicle will contribute to better outcomes for patients and I’m extremely pleased this is now on the road throughout Bancroft.”
