More Jobs, More Firefighters, More Trucks
Chris Whiting said the Palaszczuk Government always gives special attention to providing more jobs, firefighters, and trucks to Queensland’s emergency services and this year’s budget delivers an investment of $740 million.
The new stations, resources and jobs flowing from the $740 million investment means our urban and rural firefighters, SES volunteers and emergency workers are now spending more time on our streets instead of at their desks or at the station.
“25 new firefighter jobs will be open by the end of this year and we start building 75 new trucks and appliances for our emergency workers,” said Chris Whiting.
“There will be 22 projects to build new and replacement stations or upgrade other stations. Our ‘Buy Queensland’ procurement policy means these will support a range of local jobs throughout Queensland.
“The Palaszczuk Government is renewing our fleet and supporting our workforce so they are equipped to respond to any situation,” said Chris Whiting.
