Chris Whiting Pushes for ‘Lollypop Person’ at Local School Crossing

I have started a campaign to get a crossing supervisor for the school crossing on Thompson St in Deception Day for Christ the King School.
I have created an on-line Queensland Parliamentary Petition to the Minister for Transport and has been collecting further signatures outside the school at the crossing.
Christ the King is a dynamic and caring local school in Deception Bay and we need a crossing supervisor for the busiest crossing right at the front of the school.
There are over 320 students at the school from Prep to year 6 and the nearest ‘lollypop person’ is at a crossing a couple of hundred metres down the road.
Parents and locals have said there is a need for a supervised crossing at the entrance of the school, and I agree with them.
I want to get hundreds of signatures on the petition so I can show the Minister our community supports the push to get a paid crossing supervisor.
Currently the school has been allocating staff to help out at the crossing, and they simply can’t keep on doing that.
I want all the Deception Bay community, not just the school community at Christ the King, to go on-line and sign the petition I have sponsored.
I’ll be back at the school in the first week of the new term to collect more signatures.
Go to www.chriswhiting.com.au/crossing to sign, and get your friends and family to do the same.
The petition is open until 24 July 2019.
