Today I welcome the news that the Queensland State and Commonwealth Governments have awarded the tender for the Boundary Rd upgrade project.
This project will create 160 jobs over the life of the project, which is great news for our local economy.
The awarding of the tender means that things will start happening soon and motorists can expect to see lots of Hi-Viz vests and hard hats as well as clearing works.
The contract has been awarded to BMD Constructions.
It is great to see this awarded to BMD Constructions, a company that started in Queensland.
The upgrade is a joint project by the State and Federal Governments will cost $100.4 million. The Queensland State Government will manage the project and provide 20% of the funding, with the balance being funded by the Commonwealth.
Transport and Main Roads will be managing the project, so I will be able to update residents regularly as the project progresses.
